TOKYO STREET X
TOKYO STREETS, the street photography platform, is proud to announce the first expansion of it’s vision - to incorporate art into the show: TOKYO STREETS X. This multidisciplinary exhibition will take place from July 29th to August 3rd, 2025, at the stylish WPU Gallery Shinjuku, and will showcase a vibrant mix of photography (predominately street and portrait) visual art, and DJs playing over multiple days.
Our aim at TOKYO STREETS X is to highlight the myriad of different perspectives on Tokyo and Japan from local and international artists, using various mediums to bring their artistic visions to life. The show embraces local and international artists who share a similar pursuit of excellence in their work and embrace the chance to build on the spirit of accessibility, inclusivity, and community that have been a hallmark of the TOKYO STREETS exhibitions over the years.
Schedule:
July 29th, Tuesday: Open from 11:00 - 20:00 Photowalk
July 31st, Thursday: DJs from 19:00 - 21:00 playing drum and bass.
Aug 1st Friday: Pre-Party, DJs from 18:00 - 21:00 all vinyl sets, hiphop, soul, funk, disco, house.
Aug 2nd Sat: Reception Party; 18:00 - 22:00 all vinyl sets, hiphop, soul, funk, disco, house.
Aug 3rd, Sunday: DJs from 14:00 - 18:00 all viynl sets, hiphop, soul, funk, disco, house.. Close: 20:00.
Photowalk: On Tuesday, 29th (opening night), there will be a photo walk hosted by the participating photographers around the gallery area in Shinjuku. (Ticketed event) https://forms.gle/Q21pk4zTXiQctvC26
Live DJs: DJs will be playing vinyl soul, funk, and hip-hop over a number of days, including Thurs 31st, Fri 1st August (evening), Saturday 2nd August (day and evening sets), and Sunday 3rd Aug, during the afternoon.
